About UsMedia

Websites

A website that
sounds like you.

I spend most of my time writing about small businesses, so I've seen a lot of good places with websites that don't do them justice. This is the other half of what I do: sitting down with you, learning how your place actually works, and building a site that says it plainly.

01 · First

We figure out what you're saying

Figuring out the story

Who you are, who keeps coming back, and what makes people choose you. We sort that out before anything gets designed.

How people move

I map the path someone actually takes — from a Google search to booking a table or walking through your door.

Getting found

The words people are really typing, and a site structure that answers them. Built in from the start, not patched on later.

What each page says

A voice that sounds like you, page by page, and a plan you can keep adding to yourself.

02 · Then

I design it around you

Built for you

No template with your logo dropped in. Every layout is drawn around your business and what you're trying to say.

Phone first

Almost everyone will meet you on a phone, so that's where I start. The desktop version comes after.

Looks like your place

Type, color, and photos that feel like walking in the door instead of landing on a generic page.

Easy to get around

People should find hours, a menu, or a booking button without thinking about it.

03 · Next

I build the thing

Small business sites

A few pages that explain who you are and make it easy to get in touch.

Restaurant sites

Menu, hours, reservations, and the story of the kitchen — the four things people are actually looking for.

Studio + wellness sites

Schedules, class booking, and practitioner pages for studios, retreats, and solo practitioners.

Portfolio sites

For photographers, artists, and makers. Image-first, and fast.

Event sites

A home for a festival, a launch, or a multi-day program, with tickets if you need them.

Single pages

One page for a campaign or a launch, built to do one job well.

04 · After

And keep making it better

A look at what you have

I go through your current site — design, words, search, speed — and hand you a short list in the order I'd fix it.

Getting found again

The technical fixes, page titles, and content changes that help people in your area actually land on you.

Turning visits into visits

Rework the pages that matter, make the next step obvious, and take out whatever's getting in the way.

Rewriting and reordering

Sometimes the site is fine and the words aren't. I'll rewrite and reorganize so the right thing is up front.

What it costs

Three places to start.

These are honest starting numbers, not final ones. We'll land on the real scope and price after we talk — and if I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you that too.
