A New Chapter for This Is About Us

Hey everyone, I guess it's finally time to let you all in on something that's been happening behind the scenes...

I've officially moved to Boston.

A New Chapter for This Is About Us

Typing that feels a little surreal because for the last year, This is About Us and Syracuse have gone hand in hand. This city welcomed me with open arms, and because of all of you, what started as a simple blog turned into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.

When I created This is About Us, my goal was never just to post about events. I wanted people to get out of the house. I wanted to discover a new coffee shop, meet a new friend, support a local business, try something outside of my comfort zone, and simply be apart of what was happening right in my own backyard.

Lately, I've been scrolling through social media and seeing everyone out enjoying Syracuse, and I absolutely love it. I see packed events, run club flourishing, local businesses thriving, wellness events filling up, people dancing, crafting, networking, and genuinely showing up for one another.

And I'd like to think this blog played even the tiniest part in that.

A New Chapter for This Is About Us

Maybe one or two of you went to an event because you saw it here. Maybe you found your favorite happy hour through one of my posts. Maybe you attended a Thrive in Healing class, spent an evening at Cozy Craft Club or a Wellness event with Imani, laughed your way through one of Yolee's Whining Classes, or danced the night away with 40TheDJ because you happened to see it featured.

If This is About Us helped even one person get out, make a connection, or fall in love with this city a little more, then every late night writing articles, every weekend spent covering events, every interview, every photo, and every instagram post was completely worth it.

That's always been the mission.

And honestly... it feels like Syracuse has taken it from here.

This community doesn't need someone reminding people to show up anymore because you're already doing it. You're supporting each other. You're discovering new places. You're building community all on your own, and it's been one of the coolest things to watch.

I do want to say this though, I will still do my best to keep checking in whenever I can because this city will always hold a special place in my heart, I mean my children were literally born there LOL. But as I settle into Boston, you'll naturally start seeing more content from here too.

The mission of This is About Us hasn't changed. The location has.

Boston is now where I'm building (and rebuilding) my own community. I grew up on the south shore of Massachusetts about 30 minutes south of Boston, but I never really experienced the city as an adult. So discovering local businesses, finding hidden gems, and meeting incredible people with stories worth telling is going to be a really fun journey for me and I can't wait to bring you along just like I did in Syracuse.

Before I start this next chapter, I have to say thank you.

Thank you to Syracuse Run Club for being my very first feature and showing me exactly what community looked like.

To Lisa and my Thrive in Healing Monday girlies, thank you for making Mondays something to look forward to.

To 40TheDJ, DJ6arry, Mike O'leary and more, thank you for so many legendary nights and memories I'll never forget.

To my girl Yolee, thank you for your friendship, your Whining Classes, your support, for believing in This is About Us from the beginning and even contributing your own ideas.

And to every small business owner, creator, entrepreneur, event organizer, collaborator, reader, and follower who allowed me to tell my little stories...

Thank you.

You gave me so much more than content.

You gave me friendships.

You gave me confidence.

You gave me memories I'll carry for the rest of my life, and If you ever find yourself In Boston, please please reach out!

This isn't goodbye.

It's just a new city.

Syracuse will always be where This is About Us found its voice.

Now it's time to see what Boston has to say.

I hope you'll come along for the ride. ❤️
